In the same year Egger John was crowned the first club champion and the Zillertaler Flugtage saw its first edition in Reith i. A.. The development of hang gliding took on unpredictable proportions. When on long weekends between 50 and 80 colleagues haunted the air around Mayrhofen, it was time to bring order to the matter. Not without pride the GOLDEN EAGLES refer to the free use of "their" area until today. Despite, or because of, the rapid development in this sport, safety was the top priority in the club. Helmet and rescue system obligation were anchored in the statutes.
