6. Zillertaler Höhenstrasse (alpine road)
The Ziller Valley High Alpine Road is renowned as one of the most picturesque alpine roads in Austria. Take your time to really explore and enjoy all 48 km of its breath-taking scenery. Countless viewpoints offer unforgettable panoramas and perfect photograph opportunities. Are you a keen cyclist? Then conquer the challenge of the High Alpine Road on your bike. We recommend starting in the early hours of the morning while the temperatures are cool – you’ll soon break a sweat anyway! Also, the road will be quieter at this time.
7. Onwards & upwards - take a trip in Austria's largest cable car
A journey in Austria’s largest cable car doesn’t just provide technical geeks with the wow effect! Up to 160 people can be transported in the large cabin from an altitude of 630m in Mayrhofen to an altitude of 2,000m on the Leisure Mount Ahorn. Stepping out of the cable car and taking in the views of the surrounding mountains is always a wow moment! Top tip: the Ahorn is an especially popular destination for families.
