To the natural paradise of the Tux Alps

Description

From Stoankasern over the Junssee to the Geiergipfel.

From the Tux Center we take the hiking taxi to Stoankasern, where the last mountain cheese dairy of Zillertal is located. From there we first walk through lovely alpine pastures, accompanied by the glances of curious marmots, which inhabit this area pretty numerously. After a few small terrain steps, our path turns to the right and overcomes a steep grassy slope as well as a short rock passage in several serpentines. After mastering that section, we will be rewarded with the sight of the dreamlike Junssee, which then lies at our feet. From the lake, the trail continues through the scree slope to a yoke, from where it is only a few minutes to the summit of the Geier (2,857 m), where a fantastic mountain panorama awaits us. After our way back, the hiking cab takes us back to Lanersbach.
